Tuomas Rauhala

Drummer-Musician-Educator

I’m a Finnish drummer, educator, and entrepreneur originally from Vimpeli, Finland. I started playing drums at the age of 9 and began my musical journey studying classical percussion. While I appreciated the foundations it gave me, I quickly discovered my true passion in jazz, fusion, rock, and metal.

At 19, I graduated from Kaustinen College of Music and moved to Helsinki to continue my drum studies at the Helsinki Pop/Jazz Conservatory and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

I'm known for my versatile and energetic drumming style, which I’ve showcased in bands like For The Imperium and Grand Discovery. In addition to my own projects, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists, including Mikael Gabriel, Kasmir, Redrama, Anna Abreu, Waltteri Torikka, Saara Aalto, Laura Voutilainen, Poets of the Fall, John Patitucci, Paul Gilbert, and Andre Nieri. I’ve also performed as a drummer on the Finnish TV show Putous.

As an educator and coach, I co-founded the Hahto & Rauhala Drum Camp and created my own online drum school, Drum Routines, where I share my experience and passion for drumming with students around the world.

I'm proudly endorsed by TAMA Drums, SABIAN Cymbals, and VIC FIRTH Drumsticks
